ZenSoy (formerly “ZenDon”) was started in 1999 by the Schwartz family, dairy producers for 5 generations and founders of the Elmhurst Dairy Brand, which is one of the largest milk producers in Metro New York today. As a family of dairy producers, we were compelled by the growing research about the health benefits of soy to start a company that would bring refrigerated, tasty organic soy products to consumers.
Our first product was organic soy milk. (Don’t worry, our Elmhurst Dairy Brand cows didn’t mind!). After a period of research and through hard work and determination, we launched our first organic soy milk in 1999. Today, ZenSoy Organic Soy Milk is available in 4 delectable, bone-boosting flavors: original (plain), vanilla, chocolate and cappuccino.
A year after our soy milk hit shelves, we set out to introduce a new line of products for consumers to enjoy. In 2000, our organic puddings became available in creamy chocolate and fruity banana flavors. Our innovative line generated tremendous interest in the natural foods markets, so we launched two additional flavors: vanilla and a swirl pudding (a mouth-watering combination of our original chocolate flavor mixed with creamy vanilla).
ZenSoy believes in family values and healthy, great-tasting products. But we’re also big proponents of the environment. In fact, ZenSoy is an active supporter of wildlife conservation. Our company’s official symbol is the giant panda, “Su-Lin,” who represents all that’s special, rare and natural in this world –– and in ZenSoy products. But we don’t stop there. We donate a percentage of profits to help protect the pandas. We believe in giving, both to consumers through our quality products, and to our environment, because we’re responsible citizens.

  In a recent jaunt too Whole Foods I came across this banana soy pudding. As my daughter loves bananas and she can’t have milk (allergic)...I thought this might work. She really liked it. I am not sure if it was the panda bear on the holder or the pudding itself. For whatever reason she could not get enough of it. The puddings come in vanilla, chocolate and vanilla/chocolate swirl as well. The banana was pretty good in my opinion as well. I would recommend it! I hope to try the other flavors soon.
