I owned a trek 8500 mtb for 4 years. Great bike! I’ve been spending the majority of my time on the road bikes as of late. However if I ever start spending a lot of time on the mtb again, I’ll be investing in another trek.
Not a cyclist but I have gone for a few trail rides on a Trek with friends and I loved it…I’m no expert on Mtn. bikes but I would give the Trek I rode a positive rating. I’m sure they have entry level to top of the line models. I would guess the rental I rode to have been somewhere middle of the line.

Any experience with Trek Mountain Bikes? I enjoyed my Trek 990 until it was stolen after a week!
