HOW DO YOU USE IT?
Simply drop anything onto a tube icon on your desktop and Tubes instantly provides a URL to that file. Now you can send the URL to anyone and they can access your file as if right off your hard drive. No upload required.
WHY IS THIS BETTER?
If you make changes to the file on your hard drive (locally) the URL still points to it, so people are assured they always access the latest and greatest version. Further (and amazingly) Tubes instantly creates an entire website for the content you drop in a tube. That’s right – the photos, music and videos on your computer now also have their own place on the web. And you control it all.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
We can’t tell you everything, but here is the crux of the Tubes magic. When you drop something in a tube on your desktop, we push a copy to our server in the sky and constantly check and replicate any changes made by any members of the tube. We generate HTML code to produce the local tubeSite and replicate that code to our server online. And we run a local webserver so you can view your tubeSites offline. Cool, huh?
IS THIS WEB-ONLY?
No way! The whole world is moving to a blend of web+desktop and Tubes is a step ahead. If you install the Tubes Desktop Navigator, you get the added benefits of being able to receive tube contents and updates right to your desktop and other members can contribute to your tube if you permit it. And you can view, access and contribute to any tube even offline – the next time you go online everyone’s additions & changes sync automatically.
WHO CAN SEE MY STUFF?
If you make your tube private only the people you invite can access your tube. Your tubeSite is then also private, only viewable by members who join your tube. You can also make your tube publicly accessible and anyone with the URL can get in. Finally, you can publish your tubes to the Hub where perfect strangers can find them. Oh yeah, you can change your mind at any time – go from private to public and back for any of your tubes at any time.
WHY IS THIS FREE?
Anyone can create any number of tubes and publish them to the Hub, or invite as many people as they want. We take care of all hosting and bandwidth charges. We’re hoping you’ll fall in love with Tubes and use it for everything. You only have 1GB of storage to play with but we also offer 5, 10, and 20 GB versions for a small fee. So upgrade!
WHAT IF I DON’T HAVE MUCH TO SHARE?
You can browse public tubes on the Hub and subscribe to them just by dragging their icon off the webpage and onto your Tubes Desktop Navigator. Now you’ll never miss out on that episode of RocketBoom or Diggnation as their media files will get pushed to your desktop automatically.

Tubes is patterned after that cool pneumatic tube used at your friendly neighborhood bank drive-through. Drop something in a tube and it whisks off fast and securely.   TUBESNOW.com is the easiest way to send large files. Instead of putting them in a zip file and emailing it, you create a “Tube” and name it. Then drop pictures, videos, music or whatever you want into the tube. Invite your friends through email to join your tube and register. You can also publish your multi-media website and your friends don’t have to join. You can change your site from public to private anytime.
